Fasting before your procedure

Fasting instructions must be followed strictly, for your safety

  • No solid food: 6 hours before
  • No clear fluids: 2 hours before
  • Permitted medicines may be taken with a little water
  • No chewing gum or sweets

Getting ready at home

On the day

Important instructions for the day of your procedure

  • Shower with antiseptic soap
  • Remove jewellery, nail varnish and make-up
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Take the medicines you have been prescribed
